Founded by the Basile family in 1999, the winery, located on the Monte Mario farm, is run by Giovan Battista Basile, president of the Montecucco Wines Consortium. Although small, it is a tough winery, a producer that has managed to earn a well-deserved reputation thanks to its sangiovese wines, interpreted with robust qualitative reliability and a stylistic profile that faithfully reflects the loose, galestrous soils of Cinigiano, a district that can be considered the capital of Montecucco. Undoubtedly, the Montecucco Sangiovese Ad Agio Riserva remains one of the best of its kind. The 2019 has a fragrant aromatic profile on red fruit, with balsamic hints on the finish. In the mouth, the wine reveals delicate, well-sustained flavor and a clear finish. The Montecucco Sangiovese Cartacanta '20 is juicy and supple on the palate, revealing a nose with a Mediterranean profile, redolent of aromatic herbs.
