Antonio Matarazzo is behind a brilliant opening in the American capital, as the former protagonist of the successful restaurant Lupo Verde, and of the pizza maker Matteo Venini. A few months from the start, the restaurant is already travelling at warp speed, combining Neapolitan-style pizzas and a handful of dishes from the kitchen paired with a brilliant selection of Italian wines, and 20 sold by the glass. Meals begin with a mixed “cuoppo” fry or Roman-style braised artichokes. We then recommend the schiacciata with mortadella and pistachios from Bronte and the Napoli pizza, a pleasantly soft pie with good elastic texture.
