Feeling home halfway around the world: this is our favorite Italian bistrot in town. Modena-born chef Marco Carboni has traveled a lot before opening in 2017 this lovely restaurant in the charming and relaxing Colonia Roma district, closed to Plaza Rio de Janeiro. Homemade pasta is the restaurant's highlight. Start with fried gnocchi with Parma ham, Parmesan cheese and Modena balsamic vinegar, and then go for some generous green tortelli with butter and sage. During our last visit, we also had a good al dente risotto with black truffle. The ingredients are top notch and so is the wine list, which focuses on native Italian grape varieties and some very interesting natural labels. You will feel like in an authentic Italian trattoria, with an informal atmosphere that helps you to really enjoy eating and drinking. Don’t forget to reserve a relaxing outdoor table. Before or after dinner, cross the street and have a drink at the cozy Bottega bar.
