Carmelo Berardinelli has Mediterranean cuisine in his DNA. He was born in Camerota in the Cilento area, in the actual birthplace of the Mediterranean Diet concept. Donato Apicella, native of San Bartolomeo in Galdo (Benevento) is an exceptional host and a fine scout for fine quality ingredients. The duo is therefore perfect. Leonardo is an institution, one that has never given in to compromise.
Carmelo and Donato have never adapted to the requests put forward by their customers, rather they have steered them towards the very essence of Italian cuisine. That means clean flavours, on point pairings and overall Mediterranean feel. We will never forget the wild caught sea bass with Mediterranean herbs baked on a salt slab: it was immediate and exceptional in its simplicity. The service is excellent and the wine list well compiled.
