This is the restaurant of the luxurious Hotel Fasano in Rio de Janeiro overlooking Ipanema beach. The kitchen therefore reflects a seafaring character. For three years, thanks to arrival in the kitchen of Paolo Lavezzini (he matured long experience at Enoteca Pinchiorri), the quality standard has definitely raised.
Besides the “massaria”, the house has a bakery, a patisserie and a place to place dedicated to fishes – all in distinct spaces - to ensure the highest quality. Fresh produce is used for gorgeous carpaccios and tartares, risottos are a must in line with the tradition of the Fasano family, and when in season, order the fine spaghetti with clams sourced from the state of Santa Catarina. There is also lobster with Tuscan pappa al pomodoro tomato soup, grilled octopus with beans, or the simple grilled scampi. All is paired by the well-stocked win cellar that’s managed by the excellent Eduardo Luiz Ferreira.
