We consider Antimo Maria Merone one of the most talented Italian chefs abroad, as already proved during his very positive experience at 8½ Otto e Mezzo Bombana in Macao and Hong Kong, where last September he opened his own restaurant in Central. Estro looks like an elegant and refined Neapolitan living room, pronounced and clean flavours featuring just the right amount of creativity. The highlights? Langoustine with almonds, turnip and capers, or the superb Mafalde pasta in ragù genovese of Montoro onions and short rib. The service is attentive and professional, the wine list shows plenty of character. Estro fully deserves our New Opening of the Year Award.
