Serious work in this restaurant and wine bar in Charlottenburg managed by Antonio Bragato. Il Calice combines a very extensive and deep wine selection with a professinal service. At every time of the day you will find something that will suit your desires. From carpaccio, soup and salad (our beloved puntarelle!) to salumi platters. At the apertivo you could even enjoy a nice selection of cicchetti (Venetian tapas) while savoring a crispy glass of Friulano coming from the very top producers. The cuisine offers many tasty dishes like classic spaghetti with clams or generous tagliatelle with cinghiale (wild boar) or a tasty orata (seabass) served with romanesco tartle, saovoy and anchovies. To accompany the food is a well-planned wine list devoted to Italian labels and covering every philosophy, from traditional to modernist. There’s also a very intelligent choice of wines by the glass. Do not forget to leave some space for the cheese selection. In nice weather, the impulse to order an entire bottle and linger at an outdoor table is hard to resist.
