Caffè del Doge

The name goes back to a well-known Venetian roastery founded by Cavalier Ermenegildo Rizzardini in the early 1950s. Today on the same spot (just a stone's throw from the Rialto Bridge), the café welcomes customers looking for expertly brewed, intense espresso that draws on the use of carefully selected beans roasted with great dedication (here and online their world-famous house blends can be purchased along with tea, coffee-making equipment and cups). At breakfast there's also a small selection of quality croissants, including a vegan version. There are plenty of savory treats, like sandwiches (panini and tramezzini) and pizzas. There are also some hot dishes, including express meals at lunch for those looking for a break in the outdoor dining area, cordoned off from the crowds.
