In 1947 Giovanni Lazzarin, aka Nanni, had a small dairy in the Marca Trevigiana district of Treviso. Even then the cheese was distinctive for its natural, artisanal goodness. Today his sons and grandsons maintain that tradition, combining quality and technology. In the 1970s building of a new plant started in Giavera del Montello and the company passed to the direct heirs. In 1985 the Nonno Nanni brand was launched and today, becoming Latteria Montello in the third generation, it took leadership of the premium stracchino market segment in Italy. The traditional quality of the entire product range is unvaried and now includes not only classic stracchino (also with yoghurt and probiotics), but also squaquerello, robiola, mascarpone and a fresh cheese with rocket. Other trademarks are Ca’ Serena (crescenza) and Nonna Rina, dedicated 20 years ago to Nonno Nanni’s wife, and identifying a line of sweet crêpes, gnocchi (some with fillings and others flavoured), and crespelle pasta.
