OLIVE OIL PRODUCER
Tenuta Venterra is a farm that has made sustainability its business philosophy. The new mill, 3.5 metres below the level of the surrounding countryside, uses solar energy to produce electricity, while ground olive pits are used as fuel and olive cake as fertilizer. About 67,000 trees are farmed with organic methods in the countryside between Grottaglie and Ceglie Messapica, in the province of Taranto. Much of the production is exported to the rest of Europe.
