A venerable Rossano company founded in 1731, which flourished in the 1800s thanks to the improvement of maritime transport and tax advantages granted by the Bourbons. In 1907 Nicola Amarelli introduced a series of technological innovations, which safeguarded craftsmanship and increased production. Today a master liquorice-maker still controls the process, which is totally chemical-free. In addition to raw sticks and pure liquorice, flavoured with aniseed or mint, there are also liquorice comfits, liquorice liqueur, chocolate and biscuits. Firmly convinced that the synergy between companies is a way of enhancing individual skills, Amarelli has created partnerships with other businesses. Among these, Strega Alberti Benevento Spa, Officina Profumo Santa Maria Novella, and Tenute Strozzi, but also associations like Les Henokiens, Museimpresa, Comitato Leonardo, Uisi, Gemellati Uist, Aidaf, Aidepi and Soci Onorari Centenari.
