Levoni

Description

Ezechiello Levoni founded his empire in 1911, after a long apprenticeship with Francesco Peck of Prague, one of the most prestigious pork butchers of all time. Levoni won the gold medal at the London International Exhibition in 1913 for his special smoking of Hungarian ham. His children created many new products including Paisanella, cubes of bacon mixed into salami. In the 1960s, under the third generation, the business expanded and two ham factories opened, one in Lesignano de' Bagni (Parma) and the other at San Daniele del Friuli. Today the Levoni Spa group is in the fourth generation and well-known abroad for its many types of salami, cooked and cured ham, mortadella, and a whole series of speciality products.
