Invernizzi

Description

In 1908 Giovanni Invernizzi founded his eponymous company. Then, in 1914, moving to Melzo, the company became the hub of dairy production. The purchase of the Caravaggio facility marked the start of production of stracchino, Gorgonzola, taleggio, and processed cheese. In the 1960s, Carolina the Cow was invented and the company gained second place, behind Galbani, in the production of fresh cheese. In 1974, mozzarella Mozzarì was born. In 1985 the company merged with Kraft Foods and in December 2003 it was acquired by French Lactalis group. The range of products includes processed cheese slices, crescenza Invernizzina, Invernizzino string cheese, and mascarpone.
