Iasa

Description

In the market since the early 1900s, Iasa have existed in their current form since 1969. They got their start salting anchovies in the distinctive wooden barrels. Then, in 1970, they began producing and packaging anchovy fillets (in small glass jars and pull-tab aluminum cans) and anchovy paste (in tubes). Thanks to the quality of their products, in almost no time they were able to seize a sizable piece of the market. In 1980 they decided to deal in tuna and were the first in Italy to use glass jars with a screwable top - the aluminum cans came later. In both cases, the company have prided itself on upholding its artisanal methods and respect for tradition. Their other products all reflect the same dedication to quality, from their Cetara anchovies to their Colatura anchovy sauce, tuna chunks in extra-virgin olive oil and tuna bottarga (dried fish roe). They're also targeting a younger audience with their grilled tuna line and tunamburger.
