In order to taste the best pizza in town, you have to reach the San Isidro neighbourhood. The Spizza project launched in 2011, then doubling the challenge in 2016 with a second branch in the scenic Miraflores part of the city. The place is over ten thousand kilometres from Italy, but what we tasted is authentic Neapolitan-style pizza: well hand-stretched dough, baked at 400 degrees Celsius in a wood-stoked oven, fresh and well-selected ingredients.
In addition to a fine margherita with a good rim and palatable crust, we also appreciated the pizza Valentina topped with mozzarella, prosciutto, goat cheese and pears. The wine list features, among the many Argentine labels, a few Italian bottles.
