The top level olive oils are the ones awarded with the Tre Foglie, which define the outstanding, captivating prodcuts. Here are the best ones from Sicily.

Tuscany's olive oil production

Tuscany aptly represents the trend experienced by the whole of central Italy in recent years. On the one hand, production volumes vary heavily from one year to the next, while on the other, the region has been experiencing a gradual reduction in output (even during "on" years). And so it is that this year the region saw a 40% drop with respect to the previous year's harvest, going from 20,000 to just over 12,000 tons of oil produced. Having said that, Tuscany once again makes it clear that it believes in itself and that the region has understood that quality is an interlocking system made up of geography, the story behind the product and the oil itself. Indeed, Tuscany continues to work to uphold the image it has created for itself in the minds of millions of people around the world.
